UNDP launches Phase III of ‘Support to Institutional Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RT’ project
Dushanbe, Tajikistan, February 26, 2014. Today UNDP held an official signing ceremony of the Project Document ‘Support to Institutional Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan’ Project.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to development of institutional capacity of the MFA RT to effectively implement the Foreign Policy of the country.
The Project Document was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojidin Aslov and UNDP Resident Representative in Tajikistan Mr. Alexander Zuev. The ‘Support to Institutional Development of MFA RT’ project is a joint initiative of UNDP and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan launched in 2008. Throughout Phase I (2008 -2011) and Phase II (2012-2013), the project enabled advancing qualification of young diplomats through foreign language courses, publications, provision of ICT equipment as well as internships.
As stated UN RC/UNDP RR Mr. Alexander Zuev: The project, alongside its contribution to professional capacity development of MFA staff, will also promote partnerships with UN Agencies in Tajikistan as well as with MFA of foreign countries thus contributing to South-South Cooperation.
