UNDP jointly with the Embassy of Turkey to Tajikistan strengthens the business relations of Tajik and Turkish entrepreneursJan 28, 2015

More than 84 entrepreneurs of Tajikistan had an opportunity to get acquainted
with the principles and features of doing business with their Turkish
counterparts in special information sessions organized by the Trade Promotion
Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan with the support
of the UNDP Aid for Trade project (AFT) and the Turkish Embassy to Tajikistan.
The information sessions were held in Dushanbe for the entrepreneurs from
Dushanbe, Khatlon region and Districts of Republican Subordinate, and in
Khujand city for the entrepreneurs of Sughd region.
These events provided a unique opportunity for the private sector representatives of Tajikistan to acquire knowledge on the conditions of foreign trade and doing business in the Republic of Turkey to promote the establishment of partnerships, to find potential business partners, to attract advanced Turkish technology and investments to Tajikistan, to establish joint ventures, providing local people with employment opportunities and improving the welfare of the population.
Information was presented by Mr. Hakki Barutcu, Commercial Attaché of the Turkish Embassy to Tajikistan. During the sessions Tajik entrepreneurs expressed their great interest in establishment of business relations with Turkey, in particular in carrying on a dialogue with Turkish businessmen, attaining high-tech supplies and spare parts for the processing industry, receiving training by Turkish consultants on the usage of Turkish equipment, the organization of study-tours to Turkey, as well as the provision of legal advice in doing business in Turkey. In turn, Mr. Hakki Barutcu provided information that the Turkish entrepreneurs are also very much interested in supplying fruits and vegetables both fresh and dried, as well as other products from Tajikistan.
These sessions were attended by Mr. Sharif Said, the Chairman of the CCI of Tajikistan, representatives of governmental agencies, as well as by more than 80 entrepreneurs representing the business sector of Tajikistan dealing with food production, processing of agricultural products, construction materials, textiles, engineering, energy and others, from Dushanbe, Sughd and Khatlon regions, DRS, as well as mass media representatives.
