UNDP Tajikistan in cooperation with UNCTAD assists the Government of Tajikistan in improving the investments climate The launch of Investment Policy ReviewMar 10, 2015
Dushanbe, 10 March 2015 – UNDP Tajikistan in cooperation with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development office in Geneva has launched a mission on Investment Policy Review to Tajikistan, from 3 to 21 March 2015. The mission is being organized in close coordination and collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, and other relevant state bodies.
During their assignment, the mission members will hold series of meetings with the key governmental partners, representatives of private sector, foreign investors and development partners who work in the area of investment promotion, private sector development, business and investments environment enabling.
The main objective of the mission is to undertake an Investment Policy Review (IPR) with a view to further improvement of legal, regulatory and institutional framework for investment. The Review aims to identify the main structural, institutional and strategic limitations which prevent the flow of investments to Tajikistan.
After the completion of the mission, the members will prepare a draft Investment Policy Review Report which will be shared with respective partners for their review and recommendations. Also, it is expected that the draft report will be presented at the national round table at the end of the year and the finale one will be launched in Geneva with participation of Tajik officials.
UNDP Tajikistan and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development will assist the Government of Tajikistan in addressing the recommendations of Investment Policy Review and will provide their technical assistance in its implementation.
