The given report reflects the lessons learnt under the Tajik-Afghan Poverty Reduction Initiative (TAPRI), funded by the Government of Japan. It was accumulated during a key partners' workshop held in February 2012, devoted to compilation of lessons learnt and with purpose of guiding future programming carried out by UNDP and other partners when implementing similar initiatives.
The Tajik-Afghan Poverty Reduction Initiative (TAPRI) is a one-year initiative with total budget of US$ 5 million. It is implemented in the bordering areas of Khatlon region in Tajikistan and the Kunduz and Takhar provinces in Afghanistan. It aims to contribute to the poverty reduction endeavors of both countries and lays a solid foundation for cooperation and good neighborly relations.
